On the field trip to New York City, we saw all kinds of graphic design. We were in Midtown Manhattan so we visited Times Square where we saw a lot of advertisements. I noticed that banners in NYC tend to use vertical font and still manage to grab people's attention. The fonts used in said banners were decorative, making themselves stand out from others. Besides Time Square, there were buildings in the area, which made good use of making the fonts of their company logos stand out.
