Today our assignment was to use a pre-made template and use it to make a new design. The pre-made template that I used was a “New Sport Collection” that is promoting a new launch of clothing. My idea for this new design is to definitely include the initial colors that were included. Noticing the “NEW” on the side gave me an idea to paste it on a photo so that people can notice it more. The colors used in this design are very neon like so it only makes it right to make the background black so it’s more noticeable. It’s important that those who look at this can quickly and easily see that there is a new collection and that they are having a sale of %10 off clothing. From there I wanted to have big enough fonts so that they can be seen up close and from a distance. The neon colors really help as well to make them pop out. In the initial template they had a women wearing NIKE clothing as a way to promote the clothing launch. So it’s only normal to know that in order to promote something you have to include it in your promotion ad.
Looking at my final design I couldn’t have done it without learning several techniques. One technique I used was using a frame that lets you insert a photo into it. So from there is was easy to insert a photo of a woman with clothing as a way to promote a brand. I also incorporated the technique of making text vertical and I used this technique to show “ 10% off clothing” on the side of my design. Lastly, I wanted to use this technique of adding an animation to words. I used the animation option on all of the “NEW” words to make them slide through the frame like an ad would have. Overall learning these new techniques have allowed me to make my designs much more appealing to the eyes, specifically the eyes of those who could possibly show an interest in a specific ad.
