Austin - NYC Field Trip



For our last trip our teacher, Dr. Lansang took the class and me to New York City. The whole point of going to the city was to look at the different types of designs graphic designers make. While walking around the city I saw many different ways designers made text more appealing and bright. Which makes perfect sense since the idea of promoting one's brand is to make it stand out over the others. I also saw in some cases in which brands would only show their logo instead of a full on word showing their brand. For instance, we went to a mall and saw stores like Rolex and Louis Vuitton who’s marketing consists of only symbols. Overall it was a nice experience in which I got to really see the different ideas designers come with when they promote brands.

  1. Good point about brands that are recognizable just through their symbols! That's a triumph of graphic design AND marketing.
