Austin - Mood Board Grid Design

On Thursday, May 10, our class went on another trip. This time instead of roaming through the streets of downtown Newark we went to Ironbound. There we were told by Dr. Lansang to look around at stores/department signs. After taking several photos, we were then asked to create mood boards for each store using the photos we took on Thursday. When creating our mood boards we were told specifically to use a grid template. A grid template is a template that has rows and columns that can be used to insert photos and text. By using the grid template I was able to move around my photos and text into a position that seemed fit to me. As I inserted my photos I made sure to use the colors that are from the original photo as the main color theme. As a result, this ties up the whole mood board so that all the colors complement each other.

As I’m nearly finished with my mood boards I come to notice that I am able to change the spacing between my photos. Using this option, provided by Canva, I was able to make my photos bigger. As I do my final touches to my mood boards I include the hex codes for the colors that I used. If you're not familiar with what hex codes are they are a six-digit combination of numbers and letters that is defined by RGB. I was able to find the hex codes for the colors used by simply clicking on the colors and clicking on the hex code option. Using Canva makes everything much easier by including grid templates, hex codes, spacing, etc…
