As of today, our teacher, Dr. Langsang, gave us an assignment that includes the use of magazines. Using the magazines he wants us to pick one certain page that we want to recreate. After going through two magazines I came to a decision of recreating a “Chloé” bag ad. Instantly as I start my design I am certain that I want to include a similar display of the bags stance. From there I try to match the rest of the design with the bag but as well let the bag do the talking. To make the design more lively I incorporate flowers as the background, as well as a photo of a woman who looks happy. The point of this recreation is to give off the same feel and importance as the original piece. To finish it off I selectively choose the best fonts that I personally feel ties the whole design together.
Now that the design is finished I try to add certain filters and effects to make the colors stand out. Even though I intend to make the colors more brighter I try to make sure that the colors don’t overrun the bag itself. Seeing it now fully finished definitely makes the whole experience of recreating it much more pleasing. Though looking at it now I do wish I would’ve taken my time and carefully chosen the right additions to my design. I feel personally that my design was plain and boring.Therefore, next time I will look over all the possibilities with my designs to have a better view of what could have been a great design.
